Covid-19 Hygiene Procedures - Packaging & Delivery

  • Hand washing policy
  • Washing your hands regularly with soap followed by thorough drying is the single most important action we can take, this must be followed:

      1. Upon entry
      2. In the instance you touch any body parts listed below
      3. Before packaging, order picking, delivering
      4. Before and after eating and drinking
      5. Before and after using the bathroom
      6. Before you leave
      7. Anywhere else detailed in this document

    • No touching of your face, head, hair, eyes or any other body parts during shift. If you need to do so, gloves are to be disposed of, hands washed immediately, followed by with fresh glove application.
    • When putting on fresh gloves ensure you have washed or sanitised hands immediately prior and only touch the cuff of your glove with bare hands.
    • When taking gloves off do so without touching the exterior of the glove with your bare skin.
    • Ensure hand washing with soap for at least 20 seconds followed by thorough drying in every instance
    • Please see recommended links at the bottom.

  • Upon arrival to shift:
    • Hand washing
    • Phone sanitizer with alcohol and blue roll
    • Cellarman to complete key contact surface disinfection checklists:
    1. Kitchen
    2. Lab
    3. Office & General

  • Packaging:
    • Hand washing followed by thorough drying is essential:
    • Noting all points aforementioned above
    • Immediately prior to packing run, followed by fresh nitrile gloves
    • Immediately following any breaks, followed by fresh nitrile gloves
    • At the end of the packaging run
    • This applies to all areas of packaging line

    Packaging contd:

Disinfection areas, both prior to and after packaging:

    • Using diluted bleach solution, prepared fresh daily - process outlined below.
    • Pack out area & bench
    • Can loading area
    • Door handles on line
    • Packing HMI & labeller HMI & services (using 70% isopropyl alcohol)

  • Surface disinfectant preparation:
    • Ensure the bottle is clearly labelled and dated, fresh solution is to be prepared daily and discarded EOD as it degrades rapidly
    • Ensure to wear chemical gloves/glasses.
    • Thoroughly spray down the area with solution and allow 1 minute contact time.
    • Using disposable gloves & wipe down the area with fresh blue roll. Dispose of blue role immediately.
    • 70% Alcohol is also a highly effective surface disinfectant, no need to rinse or wipe.
    • Further details on chemical material compatibility to follow soon.

    1. Driving & delivery:

    Overview:

Unfortunately, given the current situation, we need to consider ourselves and customers as potential carriers. By acting as such we can aim to minimise contamination both to and from the customer by sticking to the following protocols and minimise risk all round.

    Flow chart - Delivery:

Driving > Arrive + call customer > Remove gloves > Hand sanitiser > Fresh gloves > Delivery > 2mtr Distance > Remove gloves > Hand sanitiser > Fresh gloves for driving

    1. Call the customer to inform them delivery has arrived & inform them that we’re making a contactless delivery.
    2. In the event of no answer prepare to use contact tool
    3. Remove driving gloves and place in disposal container
    4. Hand sanitiser application with 1 minute contact time
    5. Fresh glove application
    6. Home delivery:
    • Ask the recipient to back away from the door at least two meters, deliver the case either outside the building (if ok with customer) or immediately inside the doorway.
    • Do not step through the door.
    • Back away two meters, and let them get the items by picking up the bag remaining at a distance of two meters. Don’t hand off items in person.
    1. Santise contact tool and store
    2. Remove gloves and dispose in the disposal container
    3. Hand sanitiser application with 1 minute contact time
    4. Fresh gloves application
    5. Continue on to next destination
    6. Wash your hands with hand sanitiser for more than 20 seconds if possible

    1. End of delivery shift:
    1. Glove disposal, these should be considered contaminated and disposed of immediately.
    2. Hand washing, 20 seconds, followed by thorough drying and fresh gloves.
